So it begins… December 1st is upon us. The rush, the crowds, the money. Countdown ..shop till you drop,  wrap, wrap, wrap! Get tree, decorate tree (darn lights are tangled…again) How does this happen every year?!  Grrrrrrrrrrr! They want what?! But, we were done shopping. Back to the mall we go. Cook, clean, bake those cookies. Go team!
Don’t forget to take the kids to see Santa Claus. Line up with the rest of the exhausted, broke parents and sugared up, hyper kids. If only it went as smoothly as in the commercials and the sappy Christmas movies they pump out this time of year. Lets face it, we all buy into the hype. Sure we complain about the commercialism of the season. But does that stop us? No, of course not. Because there is nothing better then seeing their eyes light up at the sight of a beautiful Christmas tree surrounded by gifts of all shapes and sizes. And the smell of freshly baked cookies wafting through the house. I love Christmas! I always have and when I find myself becoming jaded about the season and full of “Bah” and “Humbug”,  I remember the epiphany that the Grinch came to on that cold snowy night years before (a magical time where we marvelled at Frosty’s magical hat and trembled at the Bumbles vicious roar), where he thought to himself  “What if Christmas, he thought, doesn’t come from a store. What if Christmas…perhaps…means a little bit more!”
