The mother of all flashbacks continues as the girls decide to visit their first Comic-Con. Will they run away screaming or embrace the wonderful chaos that is Comic-Con? Stay tuned to find out!
If you like what I’m doing here at Oddly Aroused, drop a comment in the comments section underneath the comic…I’d even like to hear from you if you don’t like what I’m doing. Better yet, come by my Facebook site: Jim Collins Art and like my page. I’ll be posting all kinds of artwork and things I like and I’ll link to the comic every time I post. That way you can stay current and not miss a thing.
Take care and have a great week! – Jim
Ok, I have a Gold Anorak for Star Trek, and still can’t think of them using autonomous non-humaniform robots in any role.
Sometimes you’ve just got to go with it, paws4thot. That’s the beauty of Cosplay, you can mashup all kinds of weird and wonderful characters and genres.
Just Google “Cosplay Mashups” and you’ll see what I mean.
Elsa/Leia
Ninja Turtle/Stormtrooper
The sky is the limit and as I said before, there are smart, creative, funny and innovative people out there who Cosplay and make it Fun!
Jim, I know about mashups, and about crossplay, but you’ve just come up with a second bad example IMO. When you explicitly point out the Elsa influence it’s clear enough, but I’ve met a number of women cosplaying “Huttese slave girl” who denied (sometimes vehemently) playing Leia, so I could have met her and not seen Elsa unless told.
Similarly, in this strip I’ve no idea where the robot is from, just that it’s wearing a Starfleet (arguably NCC-1701 depending on period) insignia.
Well, in the Sonyaverse, he must be a pretty well known character!

Let’s call my comic a mash-up of our universe and the Sonyaverse!
I’m getting curious to see just how Trudy will make the transition from Geek Heckler to full-time cosplayer.
I’m glad you’re curious, khelatar. I wonder if she will EVER learn?!
Well, khelatar sort of beat me to it. My general reaction was “Mock not the thing that you are in danger of becoming … karma will have it’s way with you.” I can speak to that from experience. 😆
And, especially while dressed like that. She’s already a cosplayer … but nobody can quite identify her cos. Yet.
Minor detail/continuity note: those marks on her jawline that aren’t there suddenly …
Not sure how far down the rabbit hole you’re going with this, but it seems that cosplay will be the overriding theme. I encourage at least a few dives into the anime/manga cosplayers, at least on the periphery, when you’re comfortable with it. Some of those folks are pretty incredible. Also, a good way to draw in some extra readers. Fan-atical community is fanatical.
On a side-note: nearly gave myself a permanent eyepatch this weekend. Weird depth-perception perspective going through this week with one eye covered most of the time. A gardening accident, of all things, involving getting face-whipped with a wild raspberry vine.
The adventure just never stops … doesn’t seem to barely slow down sometimes. Anyway, just an anecdotal way of saying I rather relate to Trudy at the moment.
Sorry to hear about the eye. I’m glad it wasn’t permanent. As the next few weeks of strips progress, I think Agnes and Trudy will realize that they have a close kinship with cosplayers and will embrace the lifestyle…(perhaps for different reasons).
Wow. Reggie’s been stuck in that tin can for awhile.
Methinks that Reggie is a bit of an introvert and uses the robot costume as a crutch…But that’s just my opinion!
