Just a little off the top
After a few computer problems and a couple of weeks of creative blockage, here is this weeks comic. Anyone who is a creative person or knows a creative person, knows all about lack of motivation or creative blockage. I have not been able to draw anything decent for weeks now. Whenever I’ve sat down to get something drawn, it either wasn’t possible to draw anything or whatever I accomplished wasn’t even worth the effort. It is extremely frustrating and can get a person feeling pretty low. But hopefully that little bump in the road is behind me now and I can get back to business and get some good stuff drawn for you and for myself. Our flashback continues as Agnes gets some help from her sister to sort out her hair problems.
I also want to take this opportunity to wish my girl, Lila, a Happy Birthday! She is my inspiration and my muse and I couldn’t do any of this without her love and support. Thank you, Milady! <3
And there she is! (Cue theme music.)
So Agnes and Trudy are sisters? I thought they were just childhood buddies.
Creative block is a bummer. It’s been a while since I had a longer one, thankfully. I sometimes get brief ones when I’m about to start inking a sketched piece and start feeling I’ve already drawn this, or have to color the main character for the somethinghundreth time, but I can usually force myself through them.
This one’s been pretty bad and lasted longer than most. I promised a couple of sketches for different people and a painting as a housewarming gift, so with all that and the comic, I just froze up every time I sat down to draw. But thankfully it’s run it’s course.
The two girls are sisters. I was probably being a little too cryptic about that and I didn’t see any reason to tiptoe around that anymore. The initial idea was that they would be like Snow White and Rose Red, contrasting each other.
Speaking of hair, I’m kinda digging Trudy’s do. Gotta wonder what happens between those two.
Trudy’s stylish mane is all the more remarkable considering how she looks later; her Dark Sonya hairdo seems a bit of a mess compared to Agnes in the last panel above. I guess she followed the character design faithfully…
