In Flagrante Delicto
First of all, I want to wish all the Father’s out there a Happy Father’s Day! I hope your day is filled with love, family and relaxation. God knows, we could all use more of that!
Our story with the “real” Sonya Crimson continues as she is literally caught with her pants down in a vulnerable and very dangerous situation. I don’t think this creature has Sonya’s welfare foremost in it’s mind. Please let me know in the comments below if you’d like to see more of the real Sonya’s adventures alongside Agnes and Trudy’s. It’s all good and I enjoy creating and drawing these for you.
The recent events in the news have been so devastating in many ways and hits home to me personally, I just wanted to say to everyone out there to show your love and appreciation to the people in your life. A hug and a simple, “I Love You” go a long way and will be reciprocated in kind.
And that being said, I appreciate all my readers and love that you love Sonya! 😉
Take care and have a great week – Jim
I’m all in favor for Real Sonya pieces. I love sword & sorcery, and it gives some insight into exactly *what* Agnes is cosplaying.
When you see someone dressed as, say, Adam West Batman you know from the start which character they’ve looked at and get an idea what stories they drew their inspiration from. Sonya is a figure we really don’t know that much about – and her stories less so.
I’m with you khelatar! As you probably know by now, I’m a huge Sword and Sorcery fan. The initial idea for Oddly Aroused was very different from what you see here now. I had outlined a much more serious and complex story that didn’t involve cosplay at all and was set in a post apocalyptic fantasy world. The limitations of a weekly strip forced me to rethink things. I developed the cosplayer idea because I enjoy the creativity and fun that cosplayers put into their work and I thought it would be a cool and current thing that I could incorporate into my love for S&S. And I could also retain the kind of humour that I tried to do over at Barwench Tales. I really enjoy the strips that deal with Sonya in her world, so I thought I’d spend a bit more time there and tell a story with her, which as you said, would give you a little more insight into Agnes’s inspiration. I think the way I’ve set things up allows me to do that and not throw anyone off too much and you’ll probably find that Agnes and Sonya aren’t all that different from each other 🙂
Thanks for your comments, as always 🙂
@khelatar has a point, but I was more thinking “Yeah I’ll be in that, and I’ll even wash your back for you!”
That would definitely be a judgement call on your part, paws4thot. Prudency might warrant discretion on your part or you might find yourself on the wrong end of Sonya’s sword 😉
I’m game for more Sonya Crimson.
Cool! Thanks, balthazar! I am too 😉
